Being diagnosed with cancer or supporting a loved one with cancer is rarely easy. Cancer Council Queensland offers a range of emotional support services to support you along the way. Call Cancer Council 13 11 20 if you would like more information about any of these.
Cancer Counselling Service
Our Counselling Service offers an opportunity to talk with nurse counsellors and psychologists who can help you with cancer related challenges.
Sometimes it can help to talk to someone who has been there and knows what you are going through
Peer Support Volunteers
Our Peer Support Program brings trained volunteers into our accommodation lodges and selected treatment facilities to provide information and support to cancer patients, their carers and family members
Cancer Support Groups
If you have been affected by cancer, we can provide you with information regarding a range of support groups operating across Queensland
Our Cancer Counselling Service provides a range of emotional support options, including our mindfulness programs. Mindfulness is both a process and a way of life. It is about paying attention to the moments in our lives in a particular way
Finding strategies that can help with relaxation and that do not require a lot of time can be helpful. Our program is for people who have had a diagnosis of cancer, their family and friends, who want to introduce relaxation into their daily life
Cancer Council Queensland is committed to upholding the rights and responsibilities of our service users. Find out more here.
